CHUUKA HOTATE
(Scallop Trim in Chinese Sauce)

The scientific names of
Japanese scallops are Pecten laquaetus and Pecten yessoensis.
Scallop trim from scallop meat caught and processed in northern Japan is cooked and seasoned in Chuuka (Chinese) style sauce which includes sesame oil, soy sauce, peppers and salt. The product is a brown color.
Chuuka Hotate is packed in 4.4 lb white plastic tubs with re-attachable lids. Four tubs are bundled together with plastic straps.
The sauce is mild and
flavor of the scallops comes through. The product can be used as
an appetizer, bar snack, or on a seafood buffet or salad bar.
